[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 16th, Kim Yongtae, the Supreme Youth Committee member of the People Power Party, fiercely criticized Kim Namguk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who said to Lee Junseok, the leader of the People Power Party, that "he may remain a failed case of youth politics."
In a post on his Facebook that day, Supreme Committee member Kim pointed out, "Is it what Member Kim thinks is successful youth politics to claim to be a protector of Cho Kuk, receive nominations, and perform parliamentary duties while defending various double standards, dogmatism, arrogance, and hypocrisy of the Moon Jae-in administration?"
He continued, "I am also one of the young politicians forming the leadership of the People Power Party, but I have no desire to follow Member Kim's example," directly addressing him.

Earlier, on the 15th, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung criticized Leader Lee for his reserved stance on installing CCTV in operating rooms, saying, "It is hard to understand the claim that installing CCTV in operating rooms would make medical procedures passive. This is the existing image of the People Power Party representing elite vested interests."
In response, Leader Lee said, "If a cautious stance on the operating room CCTV issue is met with 'Are you condoning illegal medical practices or sexual harassment?' then this is a caricature of politics," and countered, "How long will the Democratic Party continue to incite good and evil to conduct poll politics?" He further pointed out, "The vested interests are the side with 180 seats, and the side that wielded that vested power and caused all the problems, including real estate, is the Democratic Party."
Then, Member Kim criticized Leader Lee, saying, "Arguing with the opposition leader is like grabbing the Haetae statue in front of the National Assembly main building and talking nonsense," and "if this continues, the 'Lee Junseok typhoon' may remain as a representative failed case of youth politics beyond disappointment. It is very worrisome,"
He added, "Which part of Governor Lee's writing is 'interpreting a cautious stance on the operating room CCTV issue as condoning illegal medical practices or sexual harassment'?" and "What kind of imaginary story did he spin alone? Even if you look carefully, you cannot find such a claim. This is a typical case of the 'straw man fallacy,'"
He went on, "Even when interpreting the overall context of the writing and the content of other paragraphs comprehensively, it is impossible to infer what Leader Lee is saying. He just spun an imaginary story alone," and raised his voice, "He distorts and creates irrelevant claims that were never made, and engages in discussions that avoid the issues, making it not only unsuitable as a debate but also useless."
