High School Learning Materials Purchase Budget Secured at 1.5 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to expand financial support for education expenses for families with multiple children.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 16th, starting this year, high school students from families with three children will receive 100,000 KRW per person for purchasing learning materials, and high school students from families with four or more children will receive double the amount, 200,000 KRW per person.
To this end, the Office of Education recently secured 1.5 billion KRW in the first supplementary budget of the special education fund in cooperation with the Jeonnam Provincial Council.
The education expense support project for families with multiple children benefits all middle and high school students from families raising three or more children regardless of birth order, which is considered broader support compared to other city and provincial offices of education that start support from the third child.
Jung Mi-ra, Director of the Safety and Welfare Division, said, “By expanding the support target to high school students from families with three or more children starting this year, more families will be able to benefit,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a birth-friendly social atmosphere and reduce education expenses for parents.”
