[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Financial Group has introduced a female leadership development program to discover the next generation of female talents.
On the 16th, Hana Financial announced that it held the launch ceremony for the first cohort of the group's next-generation female leadership development program, 'Hana Waves,' at the 4th-floor auditorium of its Myeongdong headquarters the previous afternoon.
'Hana Waves' is a female talent development program launched by Hana Financial Group at the group level to nurture next-generation female leaders who will lead the future. The name signifies creating a wave of innovation through women's actions, voices, and sensibilities.
A total of 34 female leaders were selected as the first cohort of 'Hana Waves.' They were chosen from female deputy branch manager-level employees within the group, based on recommendations from the CEOs of each affiliated company. Until the end of this year, they will learn the attitudes and competencies necessary as leaders through various programs including ▲group mentoring ▲online MBA ▲self-directed learning (humanities, digital, leadership) ▲book discussions ▲small autonomous mentoring activities ▲strategic task presentations.
Jung-tae Kim, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, attended the launch ceremony and encouraged the 'Hana Waves' female leaders. He shared his experiences on the attitudes required as a leader, communication methods with employees, leadership insight, and organizational management know-how, fostering an open communication session.
Chairman Kim also stated, "In the rapidly changing financial environment centered on non-face-to-face and digital, delicate female leadership is increasingly necessary," and added, "I hope the female leaders of Hana Waves will create waves of innovation and become successful leaders who breathe new vitality into the group."
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group plans to expand systematic and diverse educational programs to nurture next-generation female leaders starting with the first 'Hana Waves' cohort, and accelerate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management based on diversity.
