[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Lee Dong-hoon, spokesperson for former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's presidential campaign, stated that Yoon plans to announce his political participation soon. The spokesperson conveyed that Yoon aims for an "overwhelming regime change" and is willing to cooperate with various figures to achieve this goal.
In an interview on June 16 with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' the spokesperson said, "(Yoon) plans to declare his political participation in late June or early July."
Regarding whether Yoon will join the People Power Party, the spokesperson avoided giving a definitive answer. He explained, "Yoon intends to embrace conservatives, centrists, and disillusioned former progressives disappointed with the Moon Jae-in administration," adding, "Please understand that the People Power Party can be sufficiently used as a platform for regime change."
He further added, "Just as former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and Representative Lee Jun-seok are not at opposing poles, if there are areas where former Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in can also participate, they can work together for an 'overwhelming regime change.'"
Earlier, Yoon's side had announced that they would soon reach a conclusion regarding joining the People Power Party.

The spokesperson appeared on YTN Radio's 'Hwang Bo-seon's Focus' on the previous day (15th) and said, "So far, (Yoon) has met with various senior figures in society to listen to their views, but going forward, he will meet with people from various social strata to hear public opinion and follow where it leads," adding, "Specifically, joining the People Power Party is one option."
He continued, "The People Power Party is being used as a (presidential) platform, and there is indeed a strong demand for that," but also noted, "There are opinions that joining the People Power Party is 'not Yoon Seok-yeol's way, that he should proceed at his own pace,' so we are listening to many views."
He added, "A decision will be made in due time," and predicted, "Yoon's timetable and Representative Lee Jun-seok's timetable will not conflict."
Meanwhile, the People Power Party has repeatedly urged Yoon to join. Representative Lee Jun-seok has pressured Yoon for a swift decision, advocating the so-called 'August bus theory.'
In a radio interview that day, Lee said, "By August, the People Power Party's presidential bus will leave without exception," emphasizing, "Although we have not confirmed Yoon's side's intentions regarding the timing of joining, mid to late August is sufficient time to make a political decision." This is interpreted as urging Yoon to decide on joining by August.
