[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 16th that it will open its private brand (PB) "Hi-Made Island" in the popular game "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" on the 18th.

Lotte Hi-Mart prepared this event to promote Hi-Made to the MZ generation, who are familiar with the metaverse. Visitors to Hi-Made Island can virtually browse the exhibited "Hi-Made" products and interact with other users.

To visit Hi-Made Island, players need to access the Animal Crossing game and enter the dream address that allows access to the island. Hi-Made Island features various spaces including the brand photo zone centered around the Hi-Made Waterfall, a PR zone, a town hall, and a cafe.

In the PR zone, visitors can explore popular products from four subdivided sub-brands established in April this year to strengthen the brand. The Hi-Made brand is segmented into Basic for consumers who prefer cost-effective products, Design for design products, Idea reflecting various lifestyles, and Series which consists of sets of related products under various themes. The town hall has a bulletin board for sharing content that game users want to communicate, and hidden mission information can also be checked.

A Lotte Hi-Mart official said, "We opened Hi-Made Island to expand touchpoints with the MZ generation, who will be our main customers in the future, by utilizing the metaverse platform to promote Hi-Made and to reflect new ideas suggested by customers in our products. We will continue to strengthen the Hi-Made brand by communicating with customers in various ways."
