[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wono), which has led pioneering job policies by winning the National Job Award for six consecutive years, will actively support youth employment by holding the job concert "Knockknock Week" from the 21st to the 25th.
"Knockknock Week" is an intensive employment support week program that provides various information so that young people can grasp opportunities from understanding desired job roles and companies to organizing portfolios and applying for jobs, creating a time for promising local companies and youth to come together.
The program consists of special lectures on IT employment trends, portfolio creation methods, mentoring by field, HR manager talk concerts, resume photo shoots, and employment consulting, allowing participation from beginners preparing for employment to those preparing for interviews.
Special lectures and mentoring will be conducted online. For the lectures, a consultant of the Notion program, which is highly popular among job seekers, has been invited to teach portfolio creation methods.
Mentoring includes participation from Juhwan Lee, CEO of the Korean startup "Sweet Technology," which is gaining attention in Silicon Valley, NCSoft development staff, and Wadiz marketing staff, providing vivid advice from the corporate field.
The talk concert on the 25th, which can be attended online or offline, will offer small group mentoring with HR managers for offline participants only. Currently recruiting excellent companies in Seongsu-dong such as The White Communication, Mix & Fix, Seoul Ventures, and Withurdling will participate as speakers, explaining in detail how IT recruitment is conducted, which is expected to be very helpful for job applicants.
Additionally, employment counseling and resume/self-introduction letter consulting are conducted regularly, providing young job seekers with services from makeup to resume photo shoots. Detailed information on the program schedule, content, and instructors can be found on the official Facebook page "Seongdong-gu Metropolitan Job Cafe Youth Ildabang."
In April, the district opened the first Seoul Metropolitan Northeast Job Cafe "Youth Il·Da·Bang" at Seongdong Safe Shopping Center along with an online live session, creating a comprehensive employment support space that offers free employment counseling, study rooms, job-specific lectures, and mentoring by current workers to support youth employment.
Furthermore, on the 22nd, a mid-to-senior job fair with 10 participating companies recruiting for 116 positions in sales, cleaning, transportation, and more will be held at Seongdong Safe Shopping Center, providing a place for job seekers to meet companies and actively working to resolve employment and recruitment difficulties across various demographics.
Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "Through this 'Knockknock Week,' I hope that young people who have struggled with employment stress due to the COVID-19 employment crisis will relieve their worries and achieve their dreams. We will continue to make sustained efforts to connect jobs through various policies."
