[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting participants for the 'Resident Technology School' professional certification course until June 25.

The Resident Technology School is a project that fosters professionals through technology education based on daily life needs. Following last year, the district is operating the second phase of the Resident Technology School this year, aiming for professional certification acquisition.

In particular, this project is significant in that it creates a virtuous cycle social economy ecosystem where residents solve local life problems by themselves while also leading to job creation.

The recruitment target is 35 residents who are willing to participate in the establishment of local management enterprises such as cooperatives or seek employment through obtaining professional certifications.

The courses offered are three: interior finishing, wallpaper technician, and organizing and storage expert. Each course recruits 10 to 15 people, and tuition and material costs are fully covered.

The education runs from July 2 to October 15, with weekly 4-hour classes including theory and field practice necessary for certification acquisition. Participants must also take essential common courses such as understanding social economy and establishing local management enterprises.

Residents who wish to participate can scan the QR code in the promotional material and apply by June 25 or contact the Gwangjin-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “The Resident Technology School is a program that nurtures residents as agents of social economy who can discover and solve local problems by themselves,” adding, “We will actively support so that various practical technology education can lead to job creation and income generation.”
