[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 15th that it will conduct a two-month survey on the business status of 131 door-to-door sales businesses and 13 telemarketing sales businesses in the area, along with COVID-19 quarantine inspections.
The targeted businesses mainly sell cosmetics, automobiles, kitchen and household goods, and cable TV services.
The city will visit each business site to check for changes in reported matters, whether information is provided before contract signing and contracts are issued, and whether sales personnel lists are maintained.
For telemarketing sales businesses, the city will focus on checking compliance with regulations, such as verifying at least once a month against the Do Not Call registration system for refusal of reception.
Through the inspection, businesses that have not reported suspension or closure will be subject to ex officio cancellation, and if violations are found, administrative actions such as correction recommendations or fines will be imposed.
A Gimhae City official stated, “We will do our best to prevent consumer damage and protect their rights.”
