[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, expressed the stance that "there is no ruling or opposition party in quarantine" through COVID-19 vaccination.

According to the People Power Party on the 15th, Lee received the COVID-19 vaccine (Janssen) at a hospital in Nowon-gu, Seoul, that morning.

After receiving the vaccine, Lee emphasized in a meeting with reporters, "There is no distinction between ruling and opposition parties in quarantine, and reaching herd immunity quickly through vaccination is a national task," adding, "Many members of the People Power Party are also participating in vaccination, and I believe this trend will continue."

He continued, "Many people are concerned about side effects, so it is important to secure sufficient budget through bipartisan agreement and, when vaccine side effects occur, not to apply overly strict criteria so that many people can benefit."

Lee argued that incentives for vaccination, such as the 'Travel Bubble' exempting overseas travelers from quarantine, should be actively proposed. He said, "Even in cases of the four-person gathering limit, vaccinated individuals should be excluded from the count, or similar measures should be implemented to revitalize the economy."

In April alone, Lee posted on Facebook that "the best vaccine is Pfizer," but his receiving the Janssen vaccine is interpreted as a willingness for cooperation. He appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs' the day before and said, "The opposition party will actively cooperate in quarantine and national crisis situations," adding, "I myself will go to get vaccinated tomorrow."

Born in 1985 and eligible for the Janssen vaccine as a civil defense member, Lee had previously disclosed on Facebook on the 1st that he had completed his vaccine reservation.
