Local Community-Based Broadcast Advertising Support Project
Applications for the 2nd Round Must Be Submitted by the 30th of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 15th that it will conduct the second round of public recruitment for the '2021 Local Community-Based Broadcasting Advertisement Activation Infrastructure Project' in collaboration with the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation.
This project, initiated last year by the KCC to support the growth of small business owners and revitalize the local broadcasting advertisement market, assists small business owners in producing broadcast advertisements and airing them through local broadcasting media.
This year, a total of KRW 1.22 billion will be provided to 136 small business owners for broadcast advertisement production and airing costs. Through the first round of recruitment in February, 95 recipients were selected, and in this second round, a total of 41 recipients will be chosen. Eligible applicants are small merchants and small manufacturers who have received a small business certificate from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Upon selection through screening, they will receive support covering 90% of the broadcast advertisement production or airing costs, up to a maximum of KRW 9 million.
Additionally, selected recipients will receive one-on-one customized consulting on overall marketing, including broadcast advertisement production and airing, through advertising experts in their respective regions. Selected small business owners can also apply for the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation's program offering up to a 70% discount on broadcast advertisement airing fees. Through linked support, broadcasting advertisements on TV, radio, and other media will continue.
Small business owners who received support last year reported a significant increase in brand awareness and sales growth through this project, expressing high satisfaction. According to a survey of supported small business owners, despite the COVID-19 crisis, sales increased by 13.5% and employment by 27.2% compared to the previous year, with 72.5% responding that the support helped overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
Small business owners wishing to apply for this support project can apply online from the 15th to the 30th of this month via the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation's dedicated website for small business broadcast advertisement support projects. Selected recipients will be announced on July 19 after screening. Detailed information, including application forms and other required documents, is available on the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation's dedicated website for small business broadcast advertisement support projects.
