Carrot Insurance announced on the 15th that it will properly provide Carrot Plug to Per Mile Auto Insurance subscribers.
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Carrot General Insurance announced on the 15th that it will resume normal distribution of Carrot Plug to Per-Mile Auto Insurance subscribers.
Carrot Plug is a key device for Per-Mile Auto Insurance, which charges based on driving distance. It measures driving distance using GPS and calculates insurance premiums according to monthly mileage. Due to the global semiconductor shortage, the delivery of Carrot Plug had been suspended since March.
During the suspension period, customers who subscribed to the 'Monthly Settlement Type 2 Temporary Special Contract,' which assumes 500 km of driving per month for premium payment, will receive Carrot Plug according to their subscription batch. After receiving the Carrot Plug, they will be converted to the normal monthly settlement type and will receive points based on average driving distance all at once.
A Carrot General Insurance official said, "Despite the delay in Carrot Plug distribution, the number of subscribers exceeded 100,000 in January and surpassed 200,000 within four months, showing strong customer response. We expect that normalizing Carrot Plug distribution will not only resolve risks in the first half of the year but also accelerate the influx of new Per-Mile Auto Insurance customers, especially among the MZ generation."
