Hankook Tire to Supply New Tires for Audi e-tron GT

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 15th that it will supply the 'Ventus S1 evo 3 ev,' an ultra-high-performance tire for electric vehicles, as an original equipment tire (OET) for Audi's first pure electric sports car model, the e-tron GT.

The Ventus S1 evo 3 ev is an ultra-high-performance tire for electric vehicles tailored to the characteristics of high-performance electric sports cars, delivering powerful driving performance while minimizing weight, noise, and rolling resistance. In particular, the tread pattern is designed to minimize road noise, suited to the electric vehicle's characteristic of having no engine sound.

Hankook Tire provides perfect handling performance for the e-tron GT and secures top-level lateral stiffness by applying a newly developed high-rigidity bead specialized for electric motors, ensuring stable driving performance even at high speeds. Additionally, durability has been maximized through new compound technology. Using cutting-edge technology that optimally balances temperature, time, and pressure, it achieves higher durability while simultaneously improving friction and overall rolling resistance performance.

Previously, Hankook Tire has supplied original equipment tires for Audi's premium sedans such as the A3 and A4, as well as sports utility vehicles (SUVs) including the Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, SQ7, SQ8, and RS lineups such as the RS Q8, RS7 Sportback, RS6 Avant, RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupe, and TT RS.
