219 Cases in the Capital Region... 65 Cases in Non-Capital Regions
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] On Monday the 14th, COVID-19 cases continued to be confirmed nationwide.
According to health authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, a total of 284 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide. This is 54 fewer than the 338 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Looking at the regions where new cases were reported that day, 219 cases (77.1%) were in the metropolitan area, and 65 cases (22.9%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
Seoul reported 117 cases, Gyeonggi 91, Daegu 13, Incheon 11, Daejeon and Chungbuk 10 each, Busan 9, Gyeongbuk, Chungnam, and Jeju 5 each, Gwangju 3, Gyeongnam 2, and Gangwon, Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam 1 each. Among the 17 cities and provinces, Ulsan and Sejong have not yet reported any confirmed cases.
The number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of midnight on the 15th is expected to increase further, reaching the mid to high 300s. On the previous day, 61 additional cases were reported after 6 p.m., closing at a final count of 399.
The number of new confirmed cases reported daily over the past week from the 8th to that day were 454 → 602 → 610 → 556 → 565 → 452 → 399.
With a daily average of about 520 cases over the week, the key indicator for adjusting the 'social distancing' level, the average daily regional confirmed cases, stands at 493. Although it has dropped below 500, it still remains within the 2.5 level range (nationwide 400?500 or more cases).
