Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Donates 1.4 Billion KRW for Social Vaccine Project Distribution Funds

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 14th that it held a delivery ceremony at Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall to support 1.4 billion KRW in project distribution funds for the Social Vaccine Project.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, Kim Taebong, Chairman of the Distribution Subcommittee Executive Committee of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman of the Gwangju Autonomous Police Committee), and Lee Seongdo, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.

The supported distribution funds include 300 million KRW for the COVID-19 Crisis Overcoming Priority Support Project, 200 million KRW for the COVID-19 Crisis Response Support Project, 50 million KRW for the Social Economy Capacity Building Support Project, 100 million KRW for the Social Welfare Facility Cooling Cost Support Project, 400 million KRW for the Social Welfare Field Mobility Rights Guarantee Support Project, and approximately 360 million KRW for the Child and Youth Vacation Program Support Project.

The funds will be used for various projects such as crisis response and capacity building to overcome difficulties caused by COVID-19.

In addition, through the Social Vaccine Project, including the COVID-19 Crisis Overcoming Priority Support Project, various funds collected through the ‘Republic of Korea Social Vaccine Sharing Campaign’ will be supported to respond to social issues changed after COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea Social Vaccine Sharing Campaign to respond to social issues after COVID-19 will be conducted for 47 days from the 15th of this month to the 31st of next month.

During the campaign period, participation in sharing can be made through ARS, the campaign donation account, or online fundraising on the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae website.
