Imsil-gun, Rural New Vitality Plus Project Enthusiasm 'Heating Up'

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is seeing growing interest and enthusiasm for the Rural New Vitality Plus Project, raising expectations for its successful implementation.

The county announced on the 14th that it has started training 40 hopefuls for the 2nd Action Group, who will lead the Rural New Vitality Plus Project, at the Happiness Sharing Center.

This training began with the basic integrated course of the Community Academy in 2021 and will be conducted over one month until the 8th of next month.

On the first day of training, the 8th, despite difficult conditions such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and busy farming season making it hard to gather, participants showed strong interest in the New Vitality Plus Project and enthusiastic participation in the training.

The Community Academy serves as the introductory course and the first gateway to prepare the implementing entities before executing activities and projects (community-tailored support projects, community activation support projects) aimed at revitalizing local communities within the Rural New Vitality Plus Project.

The newly established training course is a basic course consisting of a total of 10 sessions and 50 hours.

It is designed to help participants understand the basics of communities and community businesses, food (agricultural product processing), distribution, experiential tourism, and other rural convergence industries, as well as practical skills needed for actual commercialization such as startup and corporate establishment procedures and business plan writing exercises.

Communities that complete this basic course will be qualified to apply for small-scale tailored support projects, and later, through the professional course for local activists scheduled for July to August, they will be able to receive community activation support projects (H/W).

Additionally, before or during the actual project execution, they can always receive assistance from professional coordinators organized by the promotion team to resolve difficulties.

The professional coordinators consist of five external experts in various fields.

The promotion team is currently selecting 20 communities in the first half of this year for community-tailored support projects, targeting communities that completed the Community Academy last year, and each community is actively advancing their projects.

They conduct regular monitoring such as weekly on-site inspections to ensure smooth progress without setbacks.

The county expects that the activities of the Action Group will greatly help expand sales channels for agricultural specialty products through projects such as urban cafe-style sales outlets and local food direct stores, which are being promoted as part of the New Vitality Plus Project.

County Governor Shim Min said, “The products developed through this project will capture the tastes of urban consumers,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure the successful implementation of the project.”
