Damyang-gun Discusses Green New Deal Mid-term Implementation Plan at Sustainable Development Committee Meeting


[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 11th, Damyang County in Jeollanam-do held the 1st Sustainable Development Committee meeting and deliberated and resolved the 2020 Sustainable Development Indicator Evaluation Report and the Damyang County Green New Deal Mid-term Implementation Plan, the county announced on the 14th.


At the meeting, the analysis results of the "2020 Damyang County Sustainability Report," which contains the evaluation results of 17 goals, 55 detailed targets, and 71 sustainable development indicators, were explained, and opinions were exchanged on future improvement tasks and the development direction of the Sustainable Development Committee.


In addition, candid discussions continued regarding the Damyang County Green New Deal Mid-term Implementation Plan established in January and the development direction of the Sustainable Development Committee.


Going forward, the Sustainable Development Committee plans to hold a workshop in the second half of the year to revise the SDGs targets and promote continuous indicator improvement through consultations with the heads of departments responsible for the indicators.


Chairman Kim Byungwan, who presided over the meeting, urged, "With the establishment of the 2020 Damyang County Sustainability Report and the Damyang County Green New Deal Mid-term Implementation Plan, please make further efforts to ensure that the value of sustainable development permeates the county's major policies."


County Governor Choi Hyungsik said, "We will focus on thoroughly analyzing deteriorated indicators and preparing improvement measures to protect Damyang's identity and create a truly ecological city of Damyang."
