Bucheon City Operates Fine Dust Portal Service... First Among Basic Local Governments Main Screen of Bucheon City Fine Dust Portal Service [Provided by Bucheon City, Gyeonggi]

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it is the first local government to operate an independent fine dust portal service.

This portal provides five services completed under the 'Smart Fine Dust Clean Specialized Complex Project,' which was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Smart Town Challenge project, in the form of web services.

The five services include Our Neighborhood Fine Dust Information Service, Industrial Complex Dust Solution Service, Safe and Clean Air Supply Service for School Routes, Subway Station Fine Dust Reduction Service, and Big Data-Based Fine Dust Response Service.

The portal is distinguished by offering a 'one-stop service' that automatically operates reduction devices based on actual measured fine dust concentrations and analyzes the results.

Additionally, it implements transparent and trustworthy administration by publicly sharing the reduction effects and prediction results of fine dust policies through big data analysis with citizens.

The city also established a portal service called 'Citizen Participation Plaza' to communicate with citizens and plans to expand citizen participation through initiatives such as fine dust awareness campaigns, visiting fine dust classrooms, and surveys.

A Bucheon City official stated, "It has received great response as citizens can check detailed fine dust information of the region at a glance," and added, "We will continue to develop the fine dust portal together with citizens."
