KT Ranseon Edu Provides Interactive Online Classes Nationwide with Star Instructors' On-Site Lectures
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 14th that it will launch a large-scale real-time online class service called ‘Daechi in Live’ using KT Ranseon Edu through collaboration with Digital Daesung, a leading domestic education company.
Daechi in Live is a service that converts the so-called ‘top instructor’ classes, which have so far been provided offline mainly in classrooms located in specific areas such as Daechi-dong, into real-time online classes. Through this, students nationwide can listen to popular instructors’ classes provided by Digital Daesung anytime and anywhere without being restricted by location.
Most real-time online lectures provided by large academies so far have been one-way, either using video conferencing solutions intended for meetings rather than classes or simply streaming on-site lectures in real time. KT applied a class-dedicated video conferencing solution developed by KT, not the existing meeting video conferencing solutions, so that instructors and students can communicate interactively in an online environment and enjoy a class environment similar to offline classes through Daechi in Live.
Daechi in Live offers various interactive communication, participation functions, and management features within a single platform. Using 1:1 Q&A, quiz solving, and presentation functions, real-time feedback on lectures and learning can be exchanged. Attendance is automatically recorded, allowing academies to encourage attendance or send notices via SMS. The video-on-demand (VOD) replay function enables review, and features for managing learning status in detail, such as assignment submission and solving, lecture viewing history, and monthly report cards (nationwide), are also included.
Instructors can conduct real-time online classes without concerns about lecture leaks, as content protection technologies such as recording prevention and watermark functions are applied. Additionally, the existing large academies’ assistant system is implemented within KT Ranseon Edu to support smooth class progress and management.
Daechi in Live will be available through Daesung MyMac starting on the 18th, and from 3 PM on the same day, a launch commemorative first-come, first-served free special lecture benefit and various promotions will be held through the Daesung MyMac event page.
