[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Samsung Electronics announced on the 14th that it is recruiting participants for the 2021 "Samsung Electronics Collegiate Programming Contest (SCPC)".
The Samsung Electronics Collegiate Programming Contest is the largest programming competition in Korea, held by Samsung Electronics since 2015 to expand the software ecosystem and discover outstanding talent.
Any university or graduate student interested in programming can participate regardless of major or grade level, and applications can be submitted on the Samsung Research website from June 15 to July 13. Students wishing to participate can also access various resources such as program structure, algorithm techniques, and practice problems on CodeGround, a real-time coding site operated by Samsung Electronics.
In the competition, participants solve algorithm problems and submit source code within a time limit. Winners will receive a total prize of 100 million KRW and preferential hiring benefits from Samsung Electronics. So far, the contest has attracted over 25,000 university students from 27 countries and produced a total of 213 awardees, contributing to the development of software talent.
Meanwhile, all schedules of the contest will be conducted non-face-to-face. Two preliminary rounds and the final on September 4 will be held as a stable online competition on the CodeGround website.
