[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] The Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Education, and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity announced that the '2021 Online Coding Party Season 1,' where anyone can easily and enjoyably experience software and artificial intelligence (AI) education, will be held for six weeks from the 14th to July 25.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 13th, the Online Coding Party is a nationwide experiential event held twice a year online since 2015, conducted with new and diverse software and AI programs every year. You can access the Online Coding Party on the Software-Centered Society Portal (www.software.kr) and participate for free. This year’s event is extended by four weeks compared to previous years, running for a total of six weeks.
The 2021 Online Coding Party Season 1 consists of four categories: block coding, text coding, computational thinking, and AI, and plans to present a total of 22 programs, the most in the history of the Online Coding Party. In addition, famous online software and AI education programs from overseas have also been added.
The Ministry of Science and ICT explained, "New programs with various themes and difficulty levels have been added so that all participants, from coding beginners to experts, can enjoy them," and "It is designed to provide new experiences in software and artificial intelligence by solving problems connected to various subjects such as music and science through coding."
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to hold the 'Hello Coding!' and 'Step by Step!' events on the Software-Centered Society Portal for participants of the ‘2021 Online Coding Party Season 1.’
Participants who collect two or more certificates issued upon completing each mission of the Online Coding Party program can access the event participation site via QR code and upload them (Hello Coding!), or respond to the Online Coding Party survey (Step by Step!), and prizes will be awarded through a draw among participants.
Kim Jeongsam, Software Policy Officer at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "This is a time when software and artificial intelligence education is more necessary than ever to prepare for the future," and added, "We hope this event will be an opportunity for many people to develop interest and enthusiasm for software and artificial intelligence."
