Suncheon Fire Station Sweeps All Events at Jeonnam Firefighting Skills Competition, Achieves Overall 1st Place

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon Fire Station in Jeonnam (Chief Ha Soo-cheol) announced on the 11th that it swept all categories and won first place overall at this year's Firefighting Skills Competition held at the Jeonnam Fire Academy.

According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, which hosted the competition, this is the first time since the provincial competition began that Suncheon Fire Station has achieved first place in all categories.

Suncheon Fire Station, which won first place in Fire Tactics on the 9th, first place in Rescue Tactics the day before, and first place in the Strongest Firefighter category, secured the overall championship and received the Governor's Commendation. They will represent Jeonnam Province at the 34th National Firefighting Skills Competition to be held in October.

Depending on the results of the national competition, participating players will have opportunities for various awards such as special promotion by one rank and special advancement.

Ha Soo-cheol, Chief of Suncheon Fire Station, said, "After the dedicated efforts of the participating team, we achieved the unique accomplishment of first place in all categories and overall victory," adding, "As we represent Jeonnam in all categories at the national competition, we will prepare with a strong sense of responsibility and apply the firefighting tactical knowledge gained and experienced at the competition to the field to focus on ensuring citizen safety."

The Firefighting Skills Competition is held annually to improve the fire suppression and life rescue capabilities of firefighters nationwide, introduce fire and rescue tactics through comprehensive demonstration training, evaluate capabilities by city and province, and promote scientific firefighting readiness to the public.

Last year, Suncheon Fire Station won first place in the 'Rescue' category at the Jeonnam Firefighting Skills Competition and participated in the national competition. To improve the on-site response capabilities of its staff, it boldly invested budget and completed the first multi-purpose tactical training tower at a Jeonnam fire station in July last year.
