[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 11th, Lee Jun-seok was elected as the leader of the main opposition party, the People Power Party. According to the results of the People Power Party's national convention that day, candidate Lee Jun-seok secured a combined support rate of 42%, surpassing Na Kyung-won (31%), Joo Ho-young (14%), Cho Kyung-tae (6%), and Hong Moon-pyo (5%) to win the leadership. Lee also ranked first in the party member vote with 37%, ahead of Na Kyung-won, who received 33% of the party members' votes.
