Netmarble Launches 'Je2ui Nara' Domestically... Opening the Door to Performance Improvement

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Netmarble launched its most anticipated title of the second half of the year, "Je2ui Nara" (The Second Country), domestically on the 10th. Showing signs of success by ranking first in app market sales overseas, where it was released two days earlier, expectations for improved performance in the second half of the year are rising.

According to Netmarble on the 10th, Je2ui Nara is a mobile RPG that consolidates the fantasy RPG "Ni no Kuni" series, a collaboration between Level-5 and Studio Ghibli. It offers a story that travels between two worlds, Unreal Engine 4-based cartoon rendering graphics, and emotional scenario cutscenes, providing an experience akin to watching a theatrical animation.

Users can choose one of five character types and customize them to showcase their individuality. They can enjoy battle strategies with various Imagens (a type of pet), special skills, and weapons. The game allows diverse communication among users. Players can interact with others through features like building a kingdom together, bartering, and social objects that resemble toys within the game.

The release build includes 12 regions where the main story unfolds, as well as various PVE and PVP content with different concepts such as the Kingdom Training Ground, Dimensional Boundary, and Imagen Exploration.

To commemorate the domestic launch, Netmarble is conducting events such as the Kingdom Training Book, Welcome! Estabania, Attendance Pass Event, and Dice Event. The Kingdom Training Book event rewards players with items like Equipment Summon Coupons, Imagen Summon Coupons, and Costume Summon Coupons upon completing content necessary for entering Je2ui Nara.

Welcome! Estabania is an event that provides benefits upon completing game missions; players receive the 4-star Imagen "Tuwang" after completing the mission on the 7th day. The Attendance Pass Event grants 4-star equipment and various growth materials simply by logging into the game, and the Dice Event, running until the 23rd, offers items needed for class growth.

Overseas markets such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, where the game was released two days earlier, saw a strong start by ranking first in Apple App Store sales from day one. As users flooded in rapidly, Netmarble expanded servers from 15 to 22. In Korea and Japan, the game topped the Apple App Store popularity rankings through pre-downloads alone, indicating promising success.

Expectations for improved performance are also rising. Meritz Securities forecast that Je2ui Nara will generate daily sales of about 900 million KRW, surpassing 180 billion KRW in sales this year. If the game establishes itself in major markets such as Korea, Japan, and Taiwan and continues long-term service, quarterly sales, currently around 500 to 600 billion KRW, are expected to upgrade to a higher level.
