Volvik recorded a sharp increase in sales amid the COVID-19 situation.
On the 9th, it announced that it showed a 54% growth rate compared to the same period from January to May last year. The total sales amount increased by 6.085 billion KRW from 11.335 billion KRW during the same period to 17.42 billion KRW. Volvik stated, "Overseas exports showed a remarkable growth of 124%, rising from 2.455 billion KRW to 5.506 billion KRW," and added, "If the current trend continues, we expect an average growth rate of 57% until the first half of this year."
In 2019, Volvik recorded total sales of 44.5 billion KRW, but due to the impact of COVID-19 last year, overseas export routes were blocked, resulting in a decline to 37.8 billion KRW in total sales. This year, not only the domestic market but also overseas golf markets in the United States, Europe, and Japan have become more active, leading to a clear growth trend in sales. Golf balls reached 13.287 billion KRW, a 52% increase compared to the same period last year, and golf equipment reached 3.69 billion KRW, a 46% increase.
This growth is thanks to the popularity of the newly launched three types of urethane golf balls in the ‘V-Focus Line’ this year, as well as Maxgo, which can be used both in screen golf and on the field. The steady seller VIVID color balls also play a significant role in overall golf ball sales. Disney & Marvel character golf balls, Marvel rangefinders, Marvel hats and caddy bags, and Skull gloves are well received by young golfers in their 20s and 30s in Korea as well as in overseas markets.
