An in-depth discussion exploring drone technology, education, and job creation in the evolving drone era took place at Dongseo University.
Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) LINC+ Project Group announced on the 9th that it held a working committee meeting on May 27 to produce content for the '2021 2nd Drone Technology Symposium.'
The working committee included major regional universities and related companies such as Keimyung University, Dankook University, Sunmoon University, Yonsei University (Wonju), Wonkwang University, and Mongolian National University.
The meeting focused on the joint production and operation of drone technology education content. It also discussed the operational plan for the '2nd Drone Technology Symposium' scheduled to be held at Dongseo University's Jurye Campus in August, as well as cooperation for discovering specialized fields among regional universities.
Jo Dae-su, head of Dongseo University's LINC+ Project Group and president of the Korea Drone Technology Education Council established in September 2020, said, "Job creation in the drone industry, a complex of key technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, is being discussed."
Jo added, "We plan to continuously unite efforts for the symbiotic development of universities and regions to jointly discover specialized fields of drone technology education by region and revitalize the local economy."
The council is organized based on the characteristics and strengths of participating universities in the Southeast, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Chungcheong, Honam, and Gangwon regions.
They develop and disseminate drone technology education programs. They also promote various industry-academia-research cooperation projects to plan and discover R&BD projects, establish drone technology education infrastructure by region, and create a drone technology education ecosystem, leading modularized education for industry-academia cooperation in the 4th Industrial Revolution field.
