[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Samsung Electronics' new foldable smartphone 'Galaxy Z Fold3,' a highly anticipated release in the second half of the year, is reported to be launched with a cream color option in addition to the previously leaked black, green, and silver colors.
On the 8th (local time), IT specialist media PhoneArena reported this citing display analyst Ross Young.
On that day, Ross Young tweeted, "Fold3 will come in black, cream, green, and silver," adding, "The beige color mentioned earlier is cream." In May, Ross Young mentioned that the Galaxy Z Fold3 would start production in July and referred to four colors: beige, black, green, and silver.
Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold2, which was released in only two colors, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black, excluding the Thom Browne and Aston Martin editions, the new model is much more colorful.
PhoneArena referred to previously leaked images and stated, "The Mystic theme of the Z Fold2 has been removed, and the device will have a simpler form."
The overall design of the Galaxy Z Fold3 will remain almost identical to its predecessor, except for the camera arrangement. PhoneArena added that the main display is expected to adopt an under-display camera instead of a punch-hole type, resulting in a cleaner design.
Summarizing the leaked estimated specs so far, a 6.2-inch cover display and a 7.5-inch foldable Super AMOLED display will be applied to the outside and inside, respectively. The AP is expected to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, with a battery capacity of 43800mAh and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will support the S Pen.
Ross Young's tweet on this day was also a response to IT tipster Ice Universe revealing the colors of the Galaxy Z Flip3, another foldable phone expected to be unveiled around the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold3. According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Flip3 will also be released in more than four colors, including Light Violet, Green, Beige, and Black. This diversification of colors for the new Z Fold and Z Flip models is seen as an indication that Samsung is making a significant bet on foldable phones.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are expected to be unveiled at the August Galaxy Unpacked event. As Samsung has declared the popularization of foldable phones this year, the launch price is expected to be lower than that of the previous models.
