Leap Forward as a Metropolitan Area Integrated Logistics Hub 'Bureung~' On the 7th, at the opening ceremony of Mesh Korea's Gimpo Fulfillment Center (FC), (from left) Kim Wansu, Director of Mesh Korea, Kim Hyungseol, Vice President, Kim Seungmin, Executive Director, Yoo Jungbeom, CEO, Jo Hyungchan, Delivery Driver, Han Kwanghee, Head of Department, and Son Seungjin, Center Manager, are cutting the ribbon.

Jeonho-ri, Gochon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do. In this area, where logistics hubs for major distribution companies including Coupang and Kurly are concentrated in the metropolitan area, there is a startup that has started operating a fulfillment center (FC) capable of performing comprehensive logistics services such as product packaging, storage, delivery, and returns. This is Mesh Korea, which operates 'Boorung'. Through the opening of the Gimpo Fulfillment Center, Mesh Korea has initiated its move to establish itself as a comprehensive distribution logistics brand. On the 7th, we visited the site where Boorung is evolving from the delivery domain that enabled its growth so far into IT logistics services.

Boorung's Gimpo logistics center has reopened as an FC by significantly upgrading the scale and functions of the existing transfer center (TC). It consists of a dedicated area of 2,115㎡, including a 1,160㎡ space capable of frozen storage and a 500㎡ logistics warehouse equipped with refrigeration facilities.

◆Gimpo FC enables 24-hour automated inbound and outbound operations=Boorung's Gimpo FC is a logistics center capable of 24-hour automated inbound and outbound operations. There are five inbound and delivery times per day, including first and second rounds of same-day delivery, first and second rounds of dawn delivery, and parcel delivery. It is equipped with a full cold chain system capable of storing refrigerated and frozen foods, and dock facilities that can accommodate dozens of cargo trucks simultaneously. It is explained that fresh food from client companies such as Heodak, Cookat, and Genieat passes through here and is delivered to customers.

The automated facilities enable more efficient and faster operations, which is notable. A DAS (Digital Assorting System) is established that allows ordered products to be packed at once, enabling dozens of boxes to be prepared simultaneously, allowing faster outbound and delivery with a small number of operators. Also, when an invoice with a unique code is attached to the prepared box, a camera recognizes it and moves it to the location of the delivery vehicle for each region. This process is all unmanned and automatically processed.

Client companies simply deliver the products they want to sell to the Gimpo FC, and from order to packaging, outbound, delivery, and returns, Boorung takes full responsibility for all logistics processes. Yujeongbeom, CEO of Mesh Korea, emphasized, "The FC opening is a small start, but we will create successful cases to ensure transparent logistics for client companies and contribute to preventing idle resources in the logistics of the 300 trillion won-scale e-commerce market."

Leap Forward as a Metropolitan Area Integrated Logistics Hub 'Bureung~' Micro Fulfillment Center (MFC) Songpa Branch 2, an urban logistics center opened by Mesh Korea

◆MFC Songpa 2nd Branch completes delivery within 2 hours in Gangnam 3 districts=Mesh Korea recently opened its second small urban logistics center (MFC), the Songpa branch. It is an advanced base that can complete final urban delivery within a maximum of 2 hours by linking in real-time with the Gimpo logistics center, about 420 Boorung stations, and other logistics hubs. Equipped with a cold chain system, it can store meal kits and fresh foods, and with synergy from the MFC Gangnam 1st branch, the delivery service area has expanded to the three Gangnam districts: Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu, and Songpa-gu.

Through MFC expansion, Mesh Korea is aggressively diversifying delivery categories from mainly food and beverages to fashion, miscellaneous goods, bakery, cosmetics, and more. In the future, MFCs are planned to expand to 50 locations within the metropolitan area by the end of the year and to about 300 nationwide. Through this, the company plans to solidify its position as the optimal logistics solution provider in various market forms such as live commerce. CEO Yoo said, "The Gimpo FC and Songpa MFC are not just simple logistics hubs but IT logistics sites where Boorung's total logistics solutions can be directly verified in practice," adding, "All client companies will be able to experience the value of Boorung's IT logistics service, where the value of data and inventory are linked and integrated in real time."
