Myeong Hyun-gwan, Haenam County Governor, Wins 'Best Award' in Manifesto 365 Communication Category

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Myeong Hyun-gwan, the mayor of Haenam County, received the Best Communication Award from the Manifesto 365 Campaign Korea Headquarters.

According to Haenam County on the 7th, the Manifesto 365 Campaign Korea Headquarters has been selecting awardees annually since 2008 in three categories: integrity, communication, and social contribution, through monitoring the fulfillment of pledges to create elections centered on policies and pledges and a healthy society.

This year, awards were presented individually to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Mayor Myeong Hyun-gwan has continuously communicated with residents by operating the mobile mayor’s office “On-site Toktok” throughout the year, focusing on field administration to realize an open county government.

In particular, as a key task of the 7th local government administration, he promoted strengthening social media (SNS) marketing, informing the public about county policies, Haenam’s history, culture, tourism, and specialties through Facebook and YouTube, and was highly evaluated for actively communicating online by launching Haenam Sotong Net, the nation’s first resident-exclusive app.

Mayor Myeong Hyun-gwan said, “Since the launch of the 7th local government, our focus on building a trusted administration through communication with residents has led to this award,” and added, “We will continue to communicate more closely with residents and carry out administration for them with a more humble attitude.”
