Small Actions to Save the Earth: Let's Practice Low-Carbon Living Together
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Sancheong-gun Volunteer Center in Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that it conducted a low-carbon lifestyle practice campaign in front of the Sancheong Livestock Cooperative in Sancheong-eup in line with the government's '2050 Carbon Neutrality' initiative.
This campaign was launched following the selection of the Sancheong Volunteer Center in 2021 for the Gyeongnam regional city and county volunteer centers' carbon neutrality excellent program contest project.
The volunteers participating in the campaign guided the signing of a carbon neutrality practice pledge and operated a tumbler-making experience to encourage participation in low-carbon living by reducing the use of disposable cups.
Additionally, as part of the carbon neutrality practice movement, they plan to carry out environmental cleanup volunteer work around parks and walking trails frequently visited by local residents to practice low-carbon living in daily life.
Meanwhile, practicing a low-carbon lifestyle is a movement to raise awareness of the importance of transitioning to a carbon-neutral society by 2050, where net carbon emissions become zero, in order to limit the Earth's temperature rise to within 1.5℃.
