[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 6th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam held the '66th Memorial Day Ceremony' at Chungui Park in Gaya-eup, attended by about 100 people including County Governor Jo Geun-je, County Council Chairman Lee Gwang-seop, national veterans, and their families.
The event was organized to honor the sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes who devoted themselves to the nation, in commemoration of June, the month of national defense and veterans.
The ceremony proceeded in the order of saluting the national flag and singing the national anthem, a moment of silence for all residents, flower offering and incense burning by bereaved families and heads of organizations, memorial speeches, and recitation of commemorative poems.
Governor Jo said in his memorial speech, "I express my respect and reverence for the noble sacrifices and dedication of the patriotic martyrs and war heroes, and also extend my condolences and gratitude to their families. We have overcome numerous hardships with sacred sacrifice and patriotism, and we will surely overcome the current difficult situation with our united strength."
