[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeongnae) announced on the 7th that it is recruiting businesses within the district that wish to participate in the project supporting the installation of standing tables and handwashing facilities in restaurants.
First, the standing table installation support project is aimed at providing convenience to foreigners, tourists, and mobility-impaired individuals who find using floor seating tables inconvenient. This project is being promoted as part of creating a dining culture environment.
The application conditions are for businesses that have been operating for more than six months after business registration (with a business area between 30 and 200㎡) and wish to replace two or more floor seating tables based on four-person tables. Priority support will be given to businesses designated as Nam-gu famous restaurants, Gwangju famous restaurants, or model restaurants.
Additionally, restaurants participating in the hygiene rating system and designated businesses, as well as those involved in food culture improvement projects such as sodium reduction, are also eligible to apply.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Health and Hygiene Division on the 5th floor of the district office or by mail until the 15th. Approximately 20 to 23 businesses will be selected.
The project supporting the installation of handwashing facilities such as washbasins targets general restaurants that have been operating for more than six months after business registration and have installed considerate facilities such as ramps or removed thresholds for mobility-impaired individuals, and are participating in food culture improvement projects.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Health and Hygiene Division on the 5th floor of the district office or by mail until the 21st. According to the evaluation criteria, 5 to 7 general restaurants will be selected.
