Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station, Unnam Elementary School 'Korea 119 Youth Corps' Launch Ceremony

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Im Jongbok) announced on the 7th that it held the Korea 119 Youth Corps inauguration ceremony at Unnam Elementary School on the 4th.

To foster sound and healthy youth who prioritize safety, 24 members including the Unnam Elementary School advisor and corps members participated.

Following COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, the event included ▲ the 119 Youth Corps organization entrance oath and inauguration ceremony ▲ education to cultivate correct awareness and habits regarding safety for youth corps members ▲ fire safety education such as fire extinguisher operation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The Korea 119 Youth Corps at Unnam Elementary School will participate in various fire safety culture events as key players leading correct understanding of fire safety and youth safety.

Choi Byungbok, Head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, said, “Gwangsan Fire Station will do its best to comply with quarantine rules and provide various fire safety experience opportunities,” adding, “This will be an effective opportunity for children to receive fire safety education and cultivate safety awareness.”
