[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 7th that it will promote the 'Card Fee Support Project' for small business owners struggling with management cost burdens due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19 and the rise in minimum wage.
The Card Fee Support Project provides support of 0.8% of card sales, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW per business, to small business owners in the region with annual sales of 300 million KRW or less last year.
All industries except entertainment and gambling businesses are eligible to apply, and this year, about 3,000 businesses in the region are expected to receive support.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the town or township office or the community service center with necessary documents such as a copy of the business registration certificate by the 30th, or by fax.
Unlike last year, the city has significantly simplified the required documents by collectively verifying the previous year's total sales and card sales through the tax office.
The city is currently promoting the small business card fee support project through banners, its website, and Facebook.
In addition, flyers are being distributed to Shintaein, Yeonji, and Saemgoul markets and the Small Business Association to continuously promote support for small business owners.
Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, "I hope this helps alleviate the management burden of small business owners facing a crisis due to COVID-19," and added, "We will do our best to prepare policies that are practically helpful to small business owners in the future."
