Seoul's 17 Autonomous Districts, Jeju Island, and Gwangju Metropolitan City Receive Over 1,000 Tons Annually

According to Damyang County on the 7th, "Daesup Malgeun Damyang Eco-friendly Rice" was finally selected for school meals in Nowon-gu, Seoul, and will supply about 100 tons annually to 93 elementary, middle, and high schools for two years starting from July this year.
The suppliers were selected through a strict evaluation process including document screening (20%), on-site inspection evaluation (50%), and product tasting and evaluation (30%), with five locations selected including the Damyang County Nonghyup Rice Supply Corporation.
Daesup Malgeun Damyang Eco-friendly Rice has been continuously supplying about 600 tons of rice annually to Seoul school meals since 2011. This year, it was selected as school meal rice in 17 autonomous districts of Seoul, as well as Jeju Island and Gwangju City, planning to supply about 1,000 tons annually.
In particular, this year, the Damyang County Nonghyup Rice Supply Corporation, established with the participation of eight local Nonghyup cooperatives, plans to complete a state-of-the-art integrated rice processing center with a garden in Bongsan-myeon by investing 12 billion KRW, which is expected to further strengthen the competitiveness of Damyang rice in the future.
County Governor Choi Hyungsik stated, "By creating the nation's first integrated rice processing center combining a garden and experiential facilities, we will enhance consumer trust and continue the pride of being the nation's top brand through high-quality rice processing and sales by modernizing production facilities." He added, "Based on this, we will continuously secure stable sales channels to increase farmers' income."
