Hwang Jae-eun Provincial Assembly Member Enacts Traffic Safety Ordinance Including Installation of Safety Facilities on Children's School Routes

Hwang Jae-eun Provincial Assembly Member Enacts Traffic Safety Ordinance Including Installation of Safety Facilities on Children's School Routes Hwang Jae-eun, Provincial Assembly Member.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Hwang Jae-eun, a member of the Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea, proportional representation), who is the chief proposer of the "Gyeongsangnam-do Ordinance for Traffic Safety on Children's School Routes," passed the standing committee review on the 7th.

As a result, the commute routes for children in the province are expected to become safer in the future.

The ordinance aims to address the ongoing issue of traffic accidents during school commutes by mandating the governor to install and improve various traffic safety facilities around children's school routes and to establish various policies as its main points.

In particular, this ordinance provides grounds for mayors and county governors in the province to more actively promote various projects to prevent traffic accidents within school zones.

Assembly member Hwang said, "Efforts to protect the lives and safety of children, who are socially vulnerable, are a responsibility that our society must prioritize above all else, regardless of the times," adding, "I also plan to propose a safety ordinance for children's school routes targeting the provincial office of education, and I will do my best to protect the lives and safety of children vulnerable to traffic safety."

The ordinance is scheduled to be finally approved at the plenary session on the 17th.
