For the Protection of Citizens and Civil Service Office Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province conducted a joint simulation training with the police to protect citizens and civil service office staff from unusual complaints such as verbal abuse, assault, and arson that may occur during the complaint handling process.
According to the city on the 7th, the simulation training was organized into teams for petition and mediation, prior notification, video recording, reporting, and active response, and was conducted according to a virtual scenario including the activation of a safety emergency bell and police officer dispatch.
The training especially simulated an actual situation of subduing an unusual complainant through a demonstration of the safety emergency bell connected via hotline to the Pocheon Police Station 112 Integrated Situation Room.
A city official stated, "We will continue to conduct simulation training to enhance our response capabilities to unusual complainants, prevent safety accidents, and inspect emergency bells and CCTV to create a safer civil service office."
Meanwhile, last year, the city installed emergency bells directly connected to the Pocheon Police Station 112 Integrated Situation Room in the civil service offices of 14 eup, myeon, and dong districts. In addition, during the month of June, each of the 14 eup, myeon, and dong districts plans to conduct their own simulation training for responding to unusual complainants.
