[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] KB Kookmin Card is partnering with the discount payment mobile platform 'Merge Point' to launch a private label credit card (PLCC) within this year.


KB Kookmin Card announced on the 7th that it has signed a business agreement with Merge Point for the launch of the PLCC. According to this agreement, the Merge PLCC to be introduced by both companies will include special benefits tailored to the Merge Point subscription service and additional discounts at Merge Point affiliated merchants.


The Merge Point mobile application (app) will offer convenient services necessary for card issuance and use, such as simple card issuance application and registration, as well as offline payments at affiliated merchants via barcode, all integrated with KB Pay.


Currently, Merge Point provides unlimited 20% discount services at about 60,000 affiliated stores of over 200 franchise brands, including large supermarkets, convenience stores, and coffee shops, to customers subscribed to its subscription service through its dedicated mobile app.


A KB Kookmin Card official said, "Merge PLCC is expected to be an optimal product for customers who want reasonable consumption based on competitive discount benefits and differentiated card perks," adding, "Starting with the PLCC, we plan to continue mutual cooperation in various fields, including customized marketing through big data analysis of Merge Point customers' card payment characteristics and preferences."
