[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Daegu City announced on the 7th that it has been finally selected for the '2021 Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project,' organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which provides better resident services through collaboration between local governments and public/private institutions.

Daegu City applied for this Ministry of the Interior and Safety public contest to establish a citizen-participatory video conferencing-based collaboration operation system to discover and solve regional issues through public-private-public collaboration, securing a special grant of 100 million KRW to promote the 'Video Conference Communication Link Platform' (Talkieum).

This project is a digital-based collaboration system establishment project that minimizes communication gaps among public, private, and public institutions regarding complex and diverse regional issues in an era where non-face-to-face communication administration environments have emerged due to COVID-19.

Through this project, Daegu City will establish a video conferencing system usable by private (citizen support groups and related citizen communities), local governments, and public institutions, build a collaboration operation system that registers, reviews, and realizes collaborative agendas discovered through video conferences, and establish infrastructure such as servers.

Cha Hyuk-gwan, Director of the Daegu City Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, "By enabling private and public sectors to directly communicate and collaborate on regional issues anytime and anywhere, this will not only resolve the inconveniences of non-face-to-face communication and reduce social costs but is also expected to create positive effects in the community by preventing conflicts and restoring the community."
