T Map, "From the Second Half of the Year, Electric Vehicle Charging Station Search, Reservation, and Payment Will Be Available"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] From the second half of this year, it will be possible to check the status of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in real time, make reservations, and payments through the navigation app T map.

T map Mobility announced on the 7th that it will sequentially launch T map services specialized for electric vehicles in collaboration with major domestic EV infrastructure companies and institutions starting in the second half of the year.

The EV-specialized services include ▲optimal route search to charging stations ▲real-time charging station status inquiry ▲charging station reviews and feedback ▲waiting time prediction ▲easy payment for charging ▲EV membership (subscription service), etc. By registering an electric vehicle in the 'My Car Information' section within the existing T map navigation, users can access these specialized services.

To this end, T map Mobility has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with major EV infrastructure companies and has begun full-scale service development. It cooperates with charging operators (CPOs) such as Daeyoung Chaevi and ChargEV by linking charging station information in real time and collaborating in various areas such as waiting time prediction and route search algorithms.

Daeyoung Chaevi is the largest domestic rapid and ultra-rapid charging infrastructure provider, offering a one-stop service from EV charger manufacturing to operation services. T map Mobility has agreed to actively cooperate with Daeyoung Chaevi to link real-time information and introduce innovative charging functions such as PnC (Plug & Charge). PnC is a simple charging solution that automatically authenticates and processes payment immediately upon connecting the EV charging cable.

ChargEV, the first electric vehicle charging service provider in Korea, operates the largest number of charging stations domestically. Leveraging its experience in providing the largest charging service products to automakers, ChargEV collaborates with T map Mobility to offer more efficient and innovative products. The two companies are preparing integrated EV parking and charging services linked with T map Parking, as well as charging reservation services.

They plan to cooperate with public institutions such as the Ministry of Environment and Korea Electric Power Corporation in research projects, demonstration projects, and power supply and demand fields. T map Mobility intends to continue attracting participants from various sectors into the ecosystem to contribute comprehensively to the creation of an eco-friendly and energy ecosystem.

Park Seo-ha, Head of the Smart Vehicle Group at T map Mobility, emphasized, "EV charging services will grow into a core future mobility business encompassing ICT and energy-related businesses and technologies that SK Group has been engaged in. T map will play an important role as an EV data platform connecting EV mobility and energy."
