[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 7th that it will conduct the online-offline linked eco-friendly social contribution campaign "2021 Longest Run" to create a cleaner world.
"Longest Run" is a social contribution campaign started by Hyundai Motor Company in 2016, now in its 6th year. Last year, in response to the COVID-19 situation, it introduced a differentiated marathon event called the "Untact Race" (non-face-to-face running, Untact race), which received great response.
The "2021 Longest Run" is a customer participation program where participants download a dedicated application (hereafter dedicated app) and participate in running and eco-friendly missions to join in actions for environmental protection.
The "2021 Longest Run" campaign's "Untact Race" will be held from the 9th of next month for 10 days, allowing participants to freely run their desired course at their preferred time. This year as well, "Longest Run" is planned to enable participants to make meaningful donations.
Participants can join by donating clothes, purchasing a paid package for donation, or participating for free. Clothing participants donate clothes they no longer wear, some of which are reformed into commemorative T-shirts for participants. The remaining clothes will be delivered to non-profit organizations and donated to underprivileged groups domestically and abroad.
Paid participants receive an "Eco Package" that includes an eco-friendly organic material T-shirt and a commemorative medal that can be used as a cleaning product. The participation fees paid by paid participants will be donated to the creation of the "IONIQ Forest" within the National Sinseodo Natural Recreation Forest (located in Gunsan) and used for planting.
Customers wishing to participate can apply from 2 PM today until the 20th through the "Longest Run App" by selecting their preferred method among ▲clothing donation (first 300 people) ▲paid participation (first 3000 people) ▲free participation (no participant limit, application deadline July 9).
A Hyundai Motor Company official said, "We hope that small actions thinking about the environment will bring small hope and dreams to our daily lives, which have shrunk due to COVID-19," adding, "Along with efforts to reduce fine dust, we plan to expand the scope as a customer participation eco-friendly campaign that raises interest in various environmental issues such as zero waste and resource circulation."
