[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Pulmuone announced on the 7th that the nonprofit public interest organization Pulmuone Foundation is partnering with the global hotel chain Marriott International to carry out various environmental protection projects.
On the 5th, in celebration of World Environment Day, a "Blue Sea Cleanup Campaign" was held at Songdo Beach in Busan. The event was attended by 31 children and their parents who are interested in environmental protection.
In the first program, the theoretical education "Blue Sea Classroom," children were informed about the importance of the ocean and the necessity of protecting the marine environment. Moving outdoors, the "Practicing Blue Sea" program involved picking up trash directly from Songdo Beach and educating participants on how to properly separate and dispose of the collected waste.
An event was also held where children freely picked up trash on the beach with their parents and posted verification photos on Instagram. The Pulmuone Foundation plans to give gifts by lottery to children who upload verification shots of collected marine litter with the required hashtags.
As part of the cleanup campaign, the "One for Earth, One for Us" verification event will also be held. The verification event runs from the 14th of this month to the 18th of next month.
Participants can verify by posting at least two photos or videos on their personal Instagram showing their back while picking up trash or the collected trash, with the required hashtags. The required hashtags are a total of five: '#Cleanup', '#OnePersonOneCleanup', '#Pulmuone', '#GoodTravelWithMarriott', and '#FairfieldSongdo'.
