Gangnam-gu Hosts Mock Interviews with Current and Former Employees from 14 Domestic and International Companies via Zoom on May 31: "A Valuable Time That Felt Short"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) held an on-tact mock interview on the 31st of last month, attracting 52 job seekers, with talent donations from current and former HR personnel of domestic and international companies such as Nike and Coupang.
The mock interview, conducted by the district via the online video conferencing platform Zoom from 6 PM to 9 PM, involved 14 current and former personnel from domestic and international companies.
Four current employees from overseas companies such as IBM and Amazon, and ten current and former employees from LS Group, SK Innovation, LG Household & Health Care, OB Beer, and Amorepacific conducted interviews with job seekers.
The interviews were conducted in seven groups (two interviewers per group) for 30 minutes each, focusing on job-specific mock interviews such as sales & marketing and IT & R&D, followed by a 10-minute evaluation.
Job seekers who participated in the mock interviews shared feedback such as, "The mentor's questions were excellent, making the time feel short," "The customized questions about Kakao, ahead of next week's interview, were helpful," and "The realistic interview scenarios were beneficial."
Meanwhile, to assist with one-stop job preparation from interviews to hiring, the district holds a ‘Day for Inviting Hiring Companies’ on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Job Support Center on the first floor of the district office.
The ‘Day for Inviting Hiring Companies’ is a matching program between small and medium-sized enterprises struggling with recruitment due to COVID-19 and job seekers. As a result of conducting 238 interviews on-site over five sessions this year, 36 people were ultimately hired.
