7-9 Months Hybrid Online and Offline Programs... From Basic to Certification Courses in Culture, Arts, and Humanities... Open to All Residents, Free or 10,000-30,000 KRW Tuition... First-Come, First-Served Registration on District Website
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from the 7th for third-quarter YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center program participants to create an education city based on lifelong learning.
The ‘YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center’ is an educational facility established by newly remodeling the former Korea National Open University building to provide customized lifelong learning programs for each generation to residents and create a space for free learning.
The learning center is scheduled to open on June 18 and will begin full operation from July this year.
The first program courses prepared at the Future Lifelong Learning Center will be operated both online and offline so that any resident can participate without location restrictions.
Offline programs include four fields with 17 programs: humanities and culture such as palace and world heritage humanities and healing lectures through color therapy; culture and arts such as watercolor painting, botanical illustration, and pottery; vocational skills such as organizing and storage, and picture book appraisal coaching instructor; and citizen participation such as changes in the new normal era and our future lectures.
Lectures will be held at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center, and strict quarantine rules such as indoor disinfection, regular ventilation, participant temperature checks, and mandatory mask-wearing will be followed.
Online programs include 12 programs such as reading books together, developing exercise habits, and picture book, movie, and reading discussions, which can be taken through SNS platforms like Naver Band, KakaoTalk, or using Zoom.
The courses will run from July 1 to September 30 according to the program schedule, and tuition fees range from free to 10,000 to 30,000 KRW per course. Material and textbook fees are separate and should be paid in cash to the instructor.
Residents wishing to enroll can apply through the integrated reservation → lifelong education section on the district website, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from June 7.
