[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] A public opinion poll showed that candidate Lee Jun-seok ranked first with 41.3% in the suitability survey for the next leader of the People Power Party.
The polling firm PNR Research conducted the survey on the 5th, targeting 1,002 adults through 100% automated response and wireless phone surveys, commissioned by Money Today and the Mirae Korea Research Institute.
Candidate Na Kyung-won came in second with 20.6%, followed by Joo Ho-young (9.7%), Hong Moon-pyo (3.3%), and Cho Kyung-tae (3.2%).
Among 339 respondents who support the People Power Party, candidate Lee led with 49.9%. Candidate Na received 28.3%, and candidate Joo 11.5%.
Candidate Lee led across all regions, age groups, and genders. Notably, he received the highest support nationwide in Daegu-Gyeongbuk (TK), the largest conservative base, with 48.7%.
