Rendering Images of 'Galaxy S21 FE' Ready for Launch Revealed

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Rendered (virtual) images of Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition),' expected to be released in August, have been unveiled.

On the 5th (local time), IT specialist media SamMobile, citing famous IT tipster Evan Blass, revealed the design, colors, and some options of the Galaxy S21 FE.

According to the leaked images, the Galaxy S21 FE appears overall similar to the 'Galaxy S21+.' However, plastic housing is used instead of metal and a metal frame. Additionally, the front features a bezel-less screen, and the rear is equipped with a triple camera. It is expected to be released in at least four colors: Black, Lilac, Olive Green, and White.

Based on previously disclosed information, the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset, offering 6GB and 8GB RAM options, and storage capacities of 128GB and 256GB. The display will be a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O panel, with dimensions approximately 155.7mm in height, 74.5mm in width, and 7.9mm in thickness. However, it may not support a microSD card slot.

The camera setup is estimated to include a 32-megapixel front selfie camera, and on the rear, an optical image stabilization (OIS) equipped ▲12-megapixel main camera ▲12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and either an 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel telephoto camera. Connectivity options are expected to include 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, it will likely feature a 4500mAh battery capacity, supporting 25W fast charging, fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy FE is a semi-premium model that maintains the core features of the flagship S series while lowering the price. When first launched in 2017, it largely reused parts from the discontinued Galaxy Note7, but last year's S20 FE, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, gained popularity even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to compensate for the Galaxy S20's lackluster performance.
