Joo Ho-young "Presidential Election Was Do-or-Die... I Only Fought and Won Against 'Strong Guys'"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Joo Ho-young, a candidate for the leadership of the People Power Party, said on the 5th, "Since the presidential election is a fight to the death, the leader must be someone who has won by facing only the 'strong ones'."

On the afternoon of the same day, during his visit to Busan, Candidate Joo stated, "I have won five times in my National Assembly elections against former Minister Yoo Si-min, former Deputy Prime Minister of Education Yoon Deok-hong, and Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum."

Candidate Joo also said, "The leader must be someone who can defeat the heinous Moon Jae-in, the prosecution, and the media."

He then referred to the prosecution personnel reshuffle the previous day, which excluded close aides of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl from key positions, claiming, "They are fabricating cases against our candidate to win the presidential election at all costs."

Candidate Joo indirectly criticized Candidate Lee Jun-seok, who lacks parliamentary experience, by saying, "Can you appoint someone who has only wandered around the back alleys as the leader of an Everest expedition?"

In particular, he said, "Candidate Lee is too close to Yoo Seung-min and has a very bad relationship with Ahn Cheol-soo," adding, "If Candidate Lee becomes the leader, there will be daily quarrels and fights."

Regarding Candidate Na Kyung-won, he pointed out her ongoing trial related to the 'National Assembly Fast-Track (Rapid Processing Agenda) Clash Incident,' saying, "She is all talk and has her own troubles," and questioned, "She should be attending the trial, so when will she fight?"

Candidate Joo emphasized, "If I become the leader, I will create a party that members are proud of," adding, "If the members are not at the center, we cannot come to power."

He added, "Even if we win the presidential election, can we maintain power if 800,000 Democratic Party members riot and demonstrate like the candlelight protests?" and "If word spreads, even a hidden place becomes a popular restaurant where people flock; we must make our party a 'popular restaurant party.'"
