[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced that Yugok District was selected for the Saetteul Village Project, a vulnerable area living condition improvement project, in 2019, and is accelerating efforts to complete the project by 2022.

At 11 a.m. on the 4th, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il visited the Saetteul Village drainage support project site in Yugok District to receive a progress report and encourage the target households and construction personnel.

The Saetteul Village Project is a comprehensive maintenance project promoted by the National Balanced Development Committee, selecting project sites to improve residential environments and revitalize village communities in areas where old houses over 30 years old are densely packed and living conditions are poor.

The city completed projects in Okbong District in 2015 and Bibong District in 2016. Yugok District was selected in 2019, and various projects such as safety assurance, living and sanitation infrastructure maintenance, housing maintenance, and village community support are currently underway.

Mayor Cho, who visited the site, expressed his determination by saying to the responsible officials and LH personnel, "Please devote all your efforts to improving living conditions in vulnerable areas through the prompt maintenance of old houses," and "By improving the living conditions of marginalized areas that do not meet minimum housing standards, we will focus the city's administrative power on building a prosperous Jinju where all citizens are happy and promoting urban regeneration projects, which are key government policy tasks."
