[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Additional specifications for the ‘Galaxy A22 5G,’ expected to be the most affordable 5G smartphone model Samsung Electronics will launch this year, have been revealed. However, the price has not yet been disclosed.
According to IT media SamMobile on the 3rd (local time), the Galaxy A22 5G model features a 90 Hertz (Hz) refresh rate. It is equipped with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ resolution IPS LCD Infinity-V display supporting a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset and offers 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. The price remains undisclosed.
The camera setup includes an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed within a V-shaped notch on the front. On the rear, there is a triple camera system consisting of a 48-megapixel (F1.8) wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel (F2.2) ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel (F2.4) depth sensor. The 48-megapixel camera sensor also supports 4K video recording.
Connectivity features include 5G, 4G, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support, Dolby Audio, and Samsung Pay. At least four color options are expected, with the phone measuring 9mm in thickness and weighing 203g.
Following the 5G model, additional specifications for the Galaxy A22 4G model have also been revealed. The 4G model is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G80 processor and, like the 5G model, offers 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ resolution Infinity-V display. However, unlike the 5G model known to support a 90Hz refresh rate, the refresh rate for the 4G version has not yet been disclosed.
The rear camera setup on the 4G model consists of a quad (four) camera system. It includes a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera with autofocus, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Other features of the Galaxy A22 4G model include 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. The phone is expected to be available in three colors: Black, Purple, and White.
