Former Pro Baseball Player Yoon Sung-hwan Arrested on Gambling Charges

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] On the 3rd, the Daegu Northern Police Station arrested former professional baseball Samsung Lions pitcher Yoon Sung-hwan on charges of large-scale gambling.

Yoon is accused of receiving 500 million won in cash from Mr. A in September last year and using it for illegal gambling. Yoon appeared for the warrant hearing in the afternoon, and Judge Kang Kyung-ho, head of the warrant division at Daegu District Court, issued an arrest warrant, stating, "There is a risk of destroying evidence or fleeing."

Earlier, the police began an investigation based on intelligence and applied for an arrest warrant for Yoon on the 2nd.
