Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon Opens Palman Daejanggyeong to the Public for the First Time

Starting from the 19th, 'Haeinsa Palmandaejanggyeong' Exploration Festival Available via Pre-Reservation

The Tripitaka Koreana, stored at Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon, Gyeongnam, will be opened to the public. On the 3rd, Haeinsa Temple announced at the Korean Buddhist History and Culture Memorial Hall that the "Haeinsa Tripitaka Koreana Exploration Program" will be held by advance reservation starting from the 19th.

This is an internal pilgrimage program of the Janggyeong Panjeon at Haeinsa Temple, operated twice a day (10 a.m. and 2 p.m.) every Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can tour in the order of Bonghwangmun, Guksadan, Haetalmun, Beopgye Tap, Daejeokgwangjeon, Daebirojeon, Sudarajang, and Beopbojeon, guided by a monk. This is the first time the Tripitaka Koreana has been opened to the general public. Previously, it was shown only to Buddhists and others in a limited way during Buddhist events or ceremonies.

Those wishing to participate must make an advance reservation on the Haeinsa Temple website. For the protection and safety of the Tripitaka Koreana, infants under elementary school age are not allowed to apply. To protect the cultural heritage, the number of participants per session is also limited to 10 to 20 people. Registration closes every Monday at noon.
